The Electronical Engineering Department of the UPC was founded in 1987 under the LRU legislation. It carries out different activites of education, investigationa and development in the Telecommunications, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering fields.
 
The Department has over 6.000 students, 40 students in the Doctoral Program and a faculty which consists of 150 teachers, 6 administrative assistants, and 7 technical people.
